Homebuying and Improvement Discussion: Painting A Brick House????

There is a house for sale in our street, the
exact same house that we are renting and since we have not purchased a
house yet ( have been looking for a while then hubby lost job and so
on) i have my eye on it.

My neighbor and i noticed the other day that it looks like the
bricks have been painted. They have tried to give it a rendered look by
painting the bricks. My neighbor told me to stay away from it because
painting the bricks attracts termites!!! Is that true, i have never
heard of that before and would having the paint on the bricks be
problem in years to come, like for instance it peeling off? The house
would only be 4 years old if that helps any.

I am sure there is someone on here who can answer this for me. I
like the color of the paint so that is not a problem but i am concerned
about what my neighbor has said.

	Brick houses are lovely. Don't paint it. I think a brick house with slate grey roof will look impressive.
